Ashish Sood

NXT Financial Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashish Sood as Chief Financial Officer. Ashish will lead NXT's financial strategy, planning and governance. His work will help make sure the company's growth stays profitable, well managed and built for the long term.

Ashish brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience at some of the world's most respected financial institutions. He has led businesses across multiple markets with full profit-and-loss and balance sheet accountability. He brings deep expertise in deposits, lending, cards, payments, digital banking and wealth management, along with a strong understanding of customer economics and lifetime value.

A career at leading financial institutions

Ashish began his career with Citibank and then spent more than 14 years with Standard Chartered Bank. There he held a series of leadership roles across the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan, including Head of Sales, General Manager of Lending, and Head of Consumer Banking for Jordan.

As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Retail and Private Banking at Ahlibank in Oman, he helped the bank double its balance sheet, expand its branch and distribution network, and launch a successful Islamic banking business. During that time the bank was named best bank for three consecutive years.

He went on to serve as Director at Arab Financial Services in Bahrain, where he oversaw client services and the payments processing business for a global client base. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) in Oman. In that role he owned the full retail banking strategy across branches, digital, cards, deposits, lending and affluent banking. He significantly grew relationship-led revenue and built a strong senior leadership bench.

Since 2025, Ashish has advised fintech and payments companies on strategy, partnerships, regulatory positioning and bringing new products to market.

Throughout his career, Ashish has been known for pairing strong commercial judgment with disciplined risk management, regulatory alignment and governance. He has worked closely with executive committees, boards and regulators. He is also recognized as a people leader who builds high-performing teams and develops the next generation of leaders.
