James R. Vigeant

NXT Financial Group is proud to announce that James R. Vigeant has joined the company as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer. In this role, James will help shape NXT's long-term strategy, guide its investment in technology and infrastructure, and strengthen the systems and teams that support NXT's associates and the families they serve.

James brings more than four decades of experience across science, corporate strategic planning and logistics, technology, small business ownership and community engagement. He has spent his career on one idea: lasting success comes from people and institutions working together as a single, connected network toward a shared goal.

A career built on collaboration

James started out in scientific work. He moved into corporate strategic planning and logistics, where he learned how large organizations plan, coordinate and carry out work at scale. He recognized the power of technology and innovation early, well before digital tools became central to business. He later owned and ran several small businesses of his own, which gave him a firsthand understanding of what it takes to build something from the ground up.

James calls his approach "Leadership for Success." It rests on a simple belief: success comes from using collaborative assets well, so that people, partners and resources work as a unified network with clear, positive goals.

Leading with purpose in the community

James is also President of The Ealey Project (TEP), a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the legacy of civil rights attorney Roland "Duke" Ealey and the history of Richmond, Virginia's Jackson Ward. Through archiving, oral history and public outreach, TEP works to bring fuller, more authentic stories into the historical record. James describes this as the difference between genuine history and the narratives told by a few.

That commitment to authenticity and community fits naturally with NXT's mission: making financial protection simple, honest and accessible for every family, especially communities the traditional financial industry has often overlooked.
